This role is responsible for delivering high-quality craftsmanship on custom new homes and remodels while leading and mentoring a crew of carpenters and laborers. The Lead Trim Carpenter will work closely with project managers and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to Brio's quality standards. Brio Design Homes is a local, employee-owned general contractor with approximately 70 employees. We are based in Madison, Wisconsin, and complete projects within about one hour of the Madison area. Essential Functions This position requires the ability to perform physical labor in various environments and conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds. The role involves standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands and fingers to handle tools and materials. Clear verbal communication and the ability to listen and collaborate are essential. Key Responsibilities Ensure all work meets Brio Design Homes quality standards and results in high client satisfaction Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet project goals Understand and follow project schedules and job requirements Set daily team goals and create work plans to achieve project objectives Work alongside the crew to complete tasks efficiently Prioritize safety at all times Measure, mark, cut, shape, and install materials using hand and power tools Install fixtures and structures- cabinets, doors, hardware, trim, etc. Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine layouts, dimensions, and materials Maintain high standards of workmanship consistent with industry best practices Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe, clean, and working condition Train and mentor new team members and laborers Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a crew Minimum of four years of relevant residential construction experience, with supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of construction tools, equipment, building codes, and materials Ability to read blueprints and specifications and create material lists Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail Valid driver's license and proof of insurability required Ability to travel as needed Successful completion of a background check What We Offer • We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a benefits package that includes: health; dental, vision; life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, flex spending plan, paid time off, holiday pay, 401(k) and ESOP, which means you will be an owner of the company!
