Field Assistant / Carpenter - Residential Construction Position Type Full-Time (30-40 hours per week) About the Position We are seeking a dependable and versatile Field Assistant / Carpenter to support our residential construction team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality work, and is comfortable balancing hands-on carpentry with job site coordination and general field support. The right candidate will help keep projects moving by communicating with subcontractors, performing site inspections, assisting with carpentry tasks, maintaining clean and organized job sites, and handling material pickups and deliveries. Responsibilities Job Site Coordination Meet with subcontractors and vendors on active job sites. Help communicate schedules, expectations, and project details. Assist with keeping projects organized and moving efficiently. Report progress, issues, and deficiencies to the project management team. Site Walk-Throughs and Quality Control Perform regular job site walk-throughs and audits. Identify items needing correction or follow-up. Verify workmanship and job site readiness for upcoming trades. Document and communicate observations. Carpentry Support Perform rough carpentry touch-up work and minor framing corrections as needed. Assist with finish carpentry and punch-list items. Complete miscellaneous repairs and quality improvements throughout the building process. Help ensure completed work meets company standards. Exterior Work Assist with siding installation and exterior repairs when needed. Perform general exterior punch work. Material Handling and Field Support Pick up and return materials from lumber yards, hardware stores, and suppliers. Deliver materials to job sites. Maintain an organized company truck and trailer. Operate trucks and trailers safely and efficiently. Site Cleanup and Maintenance Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites. Haul debris and materials using dump trailers or dump trucks. Perform trips to disposal facilities as necessary. Support crews with miscellaneous tasks that help projects stay on schedule.
