Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are an established local company seeking qualified and experienced Construction Carpenters/Laborers who are motivated, reliable, and demonstrate a strong work ethic. We value skilled professionals committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety compliance. Candidates for this position must be able to work in all elements and temperatures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: 1.
Construction Laborer:
a. Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment b. Cleaning and preparing job sites c. Digging trenches, setting plumb and line braces for straight walls and backfilling holes d. Operating tools such as drills, saws, grinders, and jackhammers e. Mixing, pouring, spreading, and leveling concrete or asphalt f. Assisting skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, or masons g. Following health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards h. Building and dismantling scaffolding, ramps, or temporary structures i. Moving materials using wheelbarrows, carts, or dollies j. Controlling the work site by putting up barriers and signs or directing traffic 2.
Construction Carpenter:
a. Utilizing blueprints to create structurally sound buildings and other structures b. Taking apart or constructing scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures c. Digging holes and trenches to prepare a buildings foundation, etc. d. Following instructions from construction project managers and supervisors e. Loading and unloading building materials f. Removing hazardous materials and debris from the work site g. Assisting trade workers, such as electricians or plumbers. h. Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and General Contractors
QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Basic math skills to perform calculations while measuring on job sites 2. Must be willing to be a team player and take initiative 3. Must be able and willing to work with or without direct supervision 4. Must possess problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail 5. Ability to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment is required 6. Mechanical skills to use any necessary heavy machinery and equipment 7. Ability to perform heavy labor, such as moving materials 8. Physical stamina to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather 9. Strong teamwork and communication skills 10. Ability to read or understand instructions, construction plans, and blueprints 11. Effective time management skills 12. Knowledge of trim and framing carpentry techniques 13. Familiarity with construction estimating and concrete forming 14. Understanding of building codes, safety protocols and OSHA standards
REQUIRED CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen. Must possess a valid Driver's License. Must be at least 18 years of age. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
