Availability submitted in two-week blocks About Sea Strong Marine Sea Strong Marine LLC provides professional underwater boat cleaning, hull maintenance, running gear cleaning, zinc/anode checks, video documentation, and diver reports for boat owners and marinas throughout Hampton Roads. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented hull divers who take pride in doing quality work, documenting the job properly, and representing the company professionally around clients, marinas, and vessels. This position is best suited for someone who is comfortable working in the water, understands boat bottoms and underwater vessel components, and can follow a clear service and documentation process. Position Summary The Hull Diver / Underwater Boat Cleaning Technician is responsible for cleaning and inspecting assigned vessels, documenting the service with before-and-after video, submitting a field report after each boat, and properly rinsing and stowing equipment after use. Every job must be completed to Sea Strong Marine standards. The work must be clean, the video must clearly prove the service was completed, and the field report must accurately match what was observed underwater. Responsibilities Perform underwater hull cleaning services on assigned vessels Clean hulls, keels, rudders, propellers, shafts, struts, trim tabs, and running gear as applicable Check and document visible zincs/anodes Check and document visible intakes, thru-hulls, transducers, and underwater structures Remove marine growth, slime, barnacles, and buildup using appropriate tools and care Identify and report concerns such as worn anodes, blocked intakes, fishing line, prop damage, corrosion concerns, paint failure, or loose/missing hardware Capture clear before-and-after video of each vessel Show the boat name and time/date reference when available Pause video on key structures, anodes, intakes, running gear, and concerns Upload videos to the company Diver Video Google Drive after each boat Submit the required Field Report Form after each boat Follow assigned schedules through Hullworx Communicate clearly with management regarding job status, delays, unsafe conditions, or concerns Rinse, decon, organize, and stow equipment properly after use Return equipment to the staging area unless approved otherwise Follow Sea Strong Marine safety, quality control, and documentation standards Required Qualifications Comfortable working in and around marinas, boats, and underwater environments Ability to safely perform underwater cleaning work Strong attention to detail Ability to follow written SOPs and company procedures Reliable transportation Reliable communication by phone/text/email Ability to upload video files and submit digital field reports Ability to use basic mobile apps, Google Drive, and scheduling software Must be dependable, professional, and honest about completed work Must be able to work independently and complete assigned jobs without constant supervision Preferred Qualifications Prior hull cleaning or commercial diving experience Knowledge of boat bottoms, running gear, props, rudders, shafts, struts, trim tabs, thru-hulls, and anodes Experience working around marinas or boatyards Own dive gear or cleaning tools Experience using action cameras or underwater video equipment Familiarity with Hampton Roads marinas Ability to identify common underwater vessel issues Quality Control Expectations Sea Strong Marine reviews service videos to confirm that work was completed properly.

The correct vessel was serviced Required areas were cleaned Running gear was properly cleaned Hull, keel, rudders, and key structures were shown Anodes and intakes were documented Concerns were clearly shown The field report matches the video The video is clear enough to verify the work If a job does not pass quality review due to missed cleaning, incomplete service, poor video documentation, or failure to follow company procedures, the diver may be required to return for unpaid rework before the job is accepted as complete. Schedule Requirements Divers submit availability in two-week blocks.

The 1st of each month The 15th of each month Availability must include: Open days Available time blocks Minimum requested hours Maximum requested hours Any unavailable days or restrictions Work is assigned based on client demand, diver availability, location, reliability, and quality of completed work. Tools and Technology Used Divers may be required to use: Hullworx for scheduled work Google Drive for video uploads Company Field Report Form Phone or action camera for video documentation Basic communication apps for updates and scheduling Training will be provided on company procedures, video standards, Hullworx, and reporting requirements. Physical Requirements This position may require: Swimming and diving in marina environments Working around boats, docks, ladders, and slips Lifting and carrying dive equipment Using cleaning tools underwater Working in varying weather, tide, current, and visibility conditions Bending, reaching, pulling, and repetitive tool use Safely handling sharp marine growth and underwater structures Divers are expected to evaluate conditions and stop work if unsafe conditions are present.
