About Us McArthur River - McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world's largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. Position and Responsibilities Assist with underground construction activities, including: Backfill and concrete placement. Bulkhead building and ventilation work. Installation of backfill gantry and backfill plug. Shortcreting operations.
Supervisor construction crew:
Work under the direction of the mine supervisor. Oversee the construction crew's daily activities. Train new personnel in safe construction methods.
Operate equipment and safety devices:
Operate various underground mobile equipment. Use a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) when required. Education and Qualifications Requirements of the position: minimum grade 12 diploma, or equivalent; minimum of five years of industrial construction and carpentry related experience required; previous underground and equipment operating experience; good reading, writing and communication skills are essential; ability to understand blueprints; strong organizational and leadership skills; excellent safety and attendance record; and Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Assets:
Journeyperson carpenter's ticket.
