Concrete Equipment Manager Little Rock, AR Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Paving Mechanic experience Outdoor work Construction schedule coordination Safety standards in production Routine inspections Industrial equipment troubleshooting Climbing Construction machinery maintenance Quality standards in production Welding Construction Technical skills instruction Maintenance management Equipment testing Senior level Crew management Production scheduling Communication skills Mechanical troubleshooting 10 years Performance evaluation Full Job Description The Concrete Equipment Manager will work to oversee and be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting concrete paving equipment while ensuring that machinery such a slipform pavers, concrete placers, curb machines, trowels, mixers, and other heavy equipment operate efficiently and safely to support paving operations. This position is one in which a momentary lapse of attention may result in grave and immediate danger to themselves and others; therefore, this position is classified as safety sensitive.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and lead the maintenance of concrete equipment, including routine servicing and any additional work that needs to be performed. Coordinate and perform the testing and inspections of equipment for malfunctioning parts. Repairs or replaced work, defective, or broken parts. Coordinate the placement, movement, and transportation of machines and equipment. Coordinate scheduled and planned repairs with foreman, superintendents, and project managers to appropriately maintain production schedules. Lead a team of mechanics and operators and conduct performance evaluations. Work closely with drivers, operators, and mechanics to diagnose problems and implement solutions. Train new staff and ensure all employees understand adequate safety procedures. Adjust paving equipment components according to specifications for each project. Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew. Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment and information are available for the work. Provide training and guidance to operators on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting. May perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or Division Manager. Must have a minimum of ten years experience in the civil construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of concrete paving operations. Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work. Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and squat as required for various duties with the equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Possess effective verbal and written communication skills. Must adhere to safety requirements as outlines in the Employee Handbook. Must be able to work in a team environment and assist mechanics and supervisors with other duties as required. Basic knowledge of welding techniques/safety procedures.
