Our client is a large, self-performing structural concrete contractor with a strong presence across California. The company has been family-owned for more than 30 years and has grown into one of the larger concrete contractors in the market, with over 2,100 employees. Their work includes structural concrete, pumping, formwork, place and finish, and related concrete services for major building projects. They support a wide range of project types, including commercial buildings, multifamily and mixed-use developments, parking structures, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and other large-scale concrete projects. The pumping division operates a broad concrete placement fleet that includes 28 to 65-meter truck-mounted boom pumps , city pumps, and placing booms. Equipment is maintained through California facilities, including Oakland-area support, helping provide reliable service across active job sites. Position Overview The Concrete Pump Operator will be responsible for safely operating concrete pumping equipment on active construction projects throughout the Bay Area / Oakland region . This role supports structural concrete placement operations by setting up equipment, operating pumps, coordinating with field crews, monitoring flow and placement, performing routine equipment checks, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience operating concrete pumps in the field, understands safe setup and cleanout procedures, communicates well with crews, and takes pride in keeping equipment maintained and ready for work. Key Responsibilities Safely operate concrete pumping equipment on active construction sites Set up, position, and operate boom pumps, city pumps, placing booms, or related equipment Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, finishers, laborers, ready-mix drivers, and other field personnel Monitor concrete flow, placement, pressure, hose movement, boom positioning, and job site conditions Assist with hose handling, setup, teardown, and cleanout as needed Inspect equipment before and after use Perform daily equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance Identify mechanical, hydraulic, or operational issues and report them promptly Maintain clean, organized, and safe equipment Follow all company safety policies and job site requirements Use proper PPE and safe work practices at all times Complete daily logs, inspection forms, tickets, and job-related documentation Travel to project sites across the Bay Area as needed Support field crews to keep concrete pours moving on schedule Perform other duties as assigned Equipment Exposure This role may involve operating or working around: Truck-mounted boom pumps City pumps Placing booms Line pumps Trailer pumps Pump trucks Concrete hoses Hoppers Outriggers Hydraulic systems Washout systems Ready-mix trucks Structural concrete placement equipment
