Concrete Finisher

CEI is currently looking for experienced concrete finishers. This person will be proficient with the use of hand and power tools to place and finish concrete.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Place and finish concrete paving, floors, sidewalk, curbs, walls, columns, and other structures. Vibrate and grids, rubs brooms and patches concrete structures and pavement. Cure, cover, blanket and otherwise protect finished concrete. Set and strip forms. Provide required hand tools such as but not limited to finish trowels, floats, margin trowels, knee boards, edgers and jointers. Protects adjacent surfaces from all cure and chemical over sprays. Participates in all required pre-task plan meetings, daily stretch and bend and weekly tool box safety meetings. Ability to work and finish behind highway pavers, power screeds, curb and gutter pavers and bridge deck machines. Able to finish flat concrete surfaces using a screed rod, bull float, fresno and broom. Assists in keeping a neat, orderly and safe work environment. Participates in all required safety training. Performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES

Ability to communicate accurately and effectively knowledge and understanding of the general scope of the construction industry including the ability to read and interpret plans/specifications/blue prints, building codes, and other project documents. Knowledge of layout procedures using batter boards and string lines. Ability to use transit, level and grade rod. Knowledge of the building process through and including punch list completion of the project. Understanding of the safe and efficient use of hand and power tools. May require current driver's license with a good record and the ability to drive a company vehicle. Able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
