Wichita, KS Area Summary:
We are seeking a safety-focused Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. This position requires a strong dedication to safety, teamwork, and professionalism. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for placing, finishing, and curing concrete surfaces on road, bridge, and infrastructure projects to ensure durability, safety, and compliance with project specifications. This position works collaboratively with the team to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Pour, level, and smooth concrete using hand tools, power tools, and equipment to achieve specified textures and finishes (e.g., broom, trowel, or exposed aggregate). Set forms, install rebar or wire mesh, and prepare surfaces for concrete pours, ensuring proper alignment and stability. Perform hand and power finishing techniques on flatwork, slabs, walls, columns, beams, and structural elements. Install, finish, and seal concrete joints and control joints. Operate concrete finishing tools and equipment including: power trowels, bull floats, edgers, groovers, and saws. Inspect finished surfaces for defects, apply sealants or curing compounds, and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. Ensure proper curing procedures are followed to achieve design strength and durability. Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and finish schedules. Collaborate with concrete placement crews and laborers to ensure timely and quality pours. Maintain a clean and safe work site, following all OSHA and company safety protocols. Perform minor concrete repair and patching as needed. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions on a variety of projects. Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately. Work closely with equipment operators and other crew members. Assist in other construction tasks as directed by foremen or supervisors. Some travel might be expected with this position.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. 1-2 years of concrete paving or general construction experience preferred. Experience with hand tools and ability to read blueprints is a plus. Willingness to work in various outdoor conditions and travel to job sites as needed. Valid driver's license preferred.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to airborne particles. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
