Traveling Concrete Construction Superintendent Job Type:

Extensive Travel (Projects Nationwide) Overview We are seeking an experienced Concrete Construction Superintendent to lead commercial and industrial concrete construction projects across multiple locations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing field operations, managing crews, driving production, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring quality execution from project startup through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete construction, field leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex projects involving large concrete pours, elevated decks, formwork systems, and tilt-up construction. Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Manage daily field operations on commercial and industrial concrete projects. Lead and supervise foremen, field crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources. Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and scheduling to maintain project timelines. Review construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper execution.
Oversee critical operations including:
Large-volume concrete pours Elevated concrete placements Tilt-up panel casting and erection Crane coordination and lift planning Maintain strong field presence during all major project activities. Pre-Construction Planning Participate in project planning and constructability reviews. Develop manpower plans, pour sequences, logistics plans, and work schedules. Coordinate formwork strategies, crane utilization, and site access plans. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and general contractors to ensure successful project execution. Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA standards and company safety policies. Conduct jobsite safety inspections, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses. Monitor compliance with fall protection, excavation safety, critical lift plans, and bracing requirements. Promote a culture of safety accountability throughout the project team. Quality Control Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and industry standards. Monitor concrete finishes, tolerances, embed placement, and overall workmanship. Identify and resolve field issues promptly to maintain project quality. Production & Reporting Track labor productivity, equipment utilization, and daily production quantities. Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Complete daily reports and maintain accurate project documentation. Coordinate closely with project management to maintain schedule and budget goals. Client & Team Communication Serve as the primary field contact for owners, inspectors, engineers, and general contractors. Provide clear communication regarding project progress, challenges, and solutions. Support schedule recovery efforts and field-driven problem solving when required. Qualifications Required 7+ years of commercial or industrial concrete construction experience. Previous experience as a Superintendent, Senior Foreman, or Field Leader.
Strong background in:
Concrete construction Formwork systems Large slab-on-grade pours Elevated deck placements High-volume concrete operations Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings. Proven ability to lead and develop field crews. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices. Experience with production tracking, daily reporting, and workforce management. Ability and willingness to travel extensively for project assignments.
Preferred Tilt-Up Construction Experience:
Panel casting and erection Lift planning Crane coordination Bracing systems OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 10 minimum preferred). Bilingual English/Spanish. Experience with construction management or production tracking software. Track record of delivering projects on schedule in fast-paced environments.
