Job Description
Full Job Description Duties & Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities depend on the position being applied for. Must be proficient to finish concrete on day 1. We are not looking to train you! Concrete Finisher - duties include, but are not limited to:
- Set forms, clean and inspect surfaces, and direct concrete casting.
- Pour, smooth, level, and compact concrete using handheld and power tools while monitoring weather effects on the curing process.
- Apply sealing and hardening components, and construct expansion joints.
- Be able to use both walk-behind and ride-on troweling machines.
- Major functions include the placing and finishing of concrete, setup of bulkheads, concrete sawing, floor repair, curb, & cutter, along with site work.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
- Other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications & Requirements
- Union membership in good standing or willingness to join local union.
- Perform each responsibility stated above successfully.
- High school diploma or a General Education Degree is preferred.
- 3 years minimum of related concrete and construction experience and/or training.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
- Ability to read, write, and do basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- Perform heavy labor and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
