Concrete Machine Operator About the
Position:

Our Jefferson City new state of the art, fully automated plant is looking for a reliable Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced machinery to produce high-quality concrete products. Your focus will be on ensuring efficient and safe operations while meeting production targets. As a Machine Operator, you will operate machinery such as block machines, cubers, wrappers, forklifts, kilns, robots and other equipment used in concrete manufacturing. You will set up, calibrate and adjust machines to ensure optimal performance. Monitoring machine operations, identifying any issues or malfunctions and addressing them promptly will be key responsibilities. You will also perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep machines in top working condition, ensure the proper flow of raw materials, and manage production processes to meet daily targets. Collaboration with the quality control team will be essential to ensure products meet required standards. Additionally, maintaining a clean and safe work environment while following all safety protocols is crucial.
Responsibilities/Examples:
  • Possess/Learn skills to operate machinery and equipment used in concrete manufacturing.
  • Set up, calibrate and adjust machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor machine operations, identify any issues or malfunctions and address them promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep machines in top working condition.
  • Ensure the proper flow of raw materials and manage production processes to meet daily targets.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety protocols.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience as a machine operator, particularly with VROC or Pipe Plus systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift materials and operate machinery.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Willingness to follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment.
  • Identify aggregates and raw materials by visual indicators.
  • Manage batching systems, batch reporting, moisture adjustments and product mix designs.
  • Perform visual and physical product quality inspections.
  • Continuously observe machines during production to promote optimum product yield.
  • Monitor loader, un-loader or kiln feed systems to optimize production flow and uptime.
  • Train plant personnel on equipment and operation of block machines.
  • Keep work area clean and direct production line crew on proper cleanup.
  • Complete daily machine reports accurately, including batch reports and downtime reports.
  • Execute and lead mold changes, height changes, color changes, and general machine adjustments. Mechanically inclined with knowledge of basic hand tools and their proper use.
  • Demonstrate clear verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coach, train and lead others.

Salary Range:
  • $47,840 - $64,400
