Concrete Repair Technician $20-30 Job Description The Concrete Repair Technician performs heavy, labor‑intensive concrete restoration work on commercial and infrastructure projects across New York and New Jersey. This role focuses on chipping, grinding, patching, and structural repair in high‑dust, high‑intensity environments while strictly following safety procedures and using appropriate protective equipment. Responsibilities Perform concrete repair and restoration work, including chipping, grinding, demolition, patching, and structural repairs on commercial and infrastructure projects. Use hand tools and power tools such as chipping guns, grinders, and other concrete repair equipment safely and efficiently. Carry out concrete finishing, epoxy application, and related repair tasks as required by project specifications. Work with rebar, formwork, and masonry components as part of structural repair and restoration activities. Follow all construction safety protocols and consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall‑protection systems and respirators. Work at heights on temporary flooring, scaffolding, and elevated platforms while maintaining strict adherence to fall‑protection procedures. Operate effectively in high‑dust, noisy, and physically demanding environments, including confined or awkward spaces. Read and understand basic instructions, safety guidelines, and job‑related documentation in English. Collaborate with field crews, many of whom are primarily Spanish‑speaking, to complete tasks on schedule and to quality standards. Travel regularly between job sites in New York and New Jersey according to project needs, arriving reliably and prepared for daily field work. Participate in and successfully complete extensive safety training prior to starting field work and apply that training on the job every day. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition throughout each project. Essential Skills Heavy concrete labor experience, including chipping, demolition, patching, and structural repair. Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work long hours in demanding environments. Ability to read and speak English to follow instructions and safety procedures. Experience using chipping guns, grinders, and other concrete repair tools. Comfort working at heights and using fall‑protection systems on scaffolding, temporary flooring, and elevated platforms. Ability to wear a half‑face respirator (3M 3000 series) and meet fit‑test requirements, including being clean‑shaven where the mask seals. Familiarity with construction safety protocols and proper use of PPE. Willingness and ability to travel between job sites in New York and New Jersey with reliable transportation. Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a field crew. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in concrete restoration, waterproofing, or structural repair is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a strong plus for working with primarily Spanish‑speaking crews. Experience with masonry, rebar, formwork, and concrete finishing. Exposure to or familiarity with construction‑related software such as submittal platforms or Procore is a plus. OSHA safety certifications are a plus but not required. Ability to pass extensive safety training before starting field assignments. Comfort working in fast‑paced environments with heavy tool usage and strict safety standards. Why Work Here? Join a stable, growing organization in the concrete repair industry and contribute to large‑scale, high‑impact infrastructure projects that make a visible difference in the community. You will benefit from a strong safety culture supported by comprehensive training and clear procedures. The role offers consistent work, opportunities for career growth into lead technician, foreman, or specialty repair positions, and the chance to work closely with a tight‑knit, experienced field team that values collaboration and professional development. Work Environment Work takes place on both outdoor and indoor construction sites across New York and New Jersey. The environment is high‑dust and noisy, with frequent use of heavy tools and equipment. Technicians regularly work at heights on scaffolding, temporary platforms, and elevated or temporary flooring, as well as in confined or awkward spaces. The pace is fast and the labor is physically demanding, requiring sustained stamina throughout the shift. Field crews are predominantly Spanish‑speaking, creating a diverse, team‑oriented atmosphere.
