Job Description
Position Overview The Concrete Finisher performs skilled work in the placement, finishing, curing, and repair of concrete for residential, commercial, and public works projects. This position requires strict adherence to company safety standards, quality expectations, and operational procedures. The Concrete Finisher must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively as part of a crew under the direction of a Foreman or Superintendent. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Concrete Placement & Finishing Set forms, grade, and prepare subgrade according to project specifications. Place, spread, screed, float, edge, joint, and trowel concrete using hand tools and power tools. Apply curing compounds, sealers, hardeners, and surface treatments as required. Finish concrete to specified textures including broom, hard trowel, exposed aggregate, stamped, or specialty finishes. Site Preparation & Layout Assist with layout, measurements, and elevation checks. Install rebar, mesh, chairs, and reinforcement per plans and codes. Operate compactors, saws, mixers, and other equipment safely and correctly. Repair & Maintenance Perform patching, grinding, cutting, and repair of damaged or defective concrete. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe condition. Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA, state, and company safety rules without exception. Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately. Comply with company policies regarding attendance, conduct, equipment use, and jobsite behavior. Teamwork & Communication Take direction from Foreman/Superintendent and communicate progress or issues promptly. Work cooperatively with crew members to meet production goals and quality standards. Represent the company professionally with clients, inspectors, and the public. All Other duties as assigned by management or foreman. Required Qualifications 2-5 years of concrete finishing experience (or equivalent skill level). Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in concrete finishing. Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work in varying weather conditions. Reliable transportation to and from job sites. Ability to pass pre‑employment screening. OSHA-10 certification Preferred Qualifications Experience with commercial or public works concrete. Ability to read and interpret basic plans, elevations, and specifications. Knowledge of ADA requirements, slopes, and finish tolerances. Ability to operate skid steers, power trowels, or other equipment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, dust, and uneven terrain. Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, lifting, and repetitive motion. Use of vibrating tools, power equipment, and heavy materials. Work hours may include early mornings, overtime, weekends, and occasional travel.
Pay:
$28.00 - $38.00 per hourBenefits:
