We are seeking a qualified and motivated Field Inspector / Special Inspector to join our growing team performing concrete, rebar, soil, and asphalt testing and inspections on a wide range of construction projects throughout NYC and the surrounding metropolitan area. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects ranging from commercial high-rises and infrastructure developments to institutional, healthcare, and public-sector facilities. Responsibilities Perform concrete field testing including: Slump testing, Air content testing, Unit weight testing, Concrete cylinder casting and preparation Perform NYC DOB Special Inspections for: Reinforcing steel (rebar), Concrete placement and associated construction activities Conduct soil and asphalt compaction testing using a nuclear density gauge Prepare accurate and detailed daily field reports, inspection logs, and testing documentation in a timely manner Coordinate with contractors, project managers, engineers, laboratory staff, and client representatives to support seamless project delivery Maintain testing equipment and comply with all company and jobsite safety procedures Travel to active construction sites throughout New York City and surrounding areas Support project milestones throughout various stages of construction and inspection Required Qualifications NICET Construction Materials Testing - Soils and Asphalt Level II ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification Minimum 2+ years of experience in construction materials testing and/or special inspections Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple active project sites Strong understanding of ASTM testing procedures and NYC DOB requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience performing NYC DOB Special Inspections Experience operating nuclear density gauges Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and inspection plans Additional ICC, NICET, or ACI certifications are a plus Experience working directly with contractors and managing field coordination activities Why Join
