Job Description

Job Summary This position will perform rigorous physical work to support the daily operations of the ready-mix facility. Their core duties include operating production machinery, loading and unloading raw materials, assisting with routine equipment maintenance, and ensuring the plant meets strict housekeeping and safety standards.
Essential Functions Material Handling:
Load, unload, and transport raw materials using manual labor or heavy machinery (e.g., forklifts or bobcats).
Plant Maintenance:
Assist operators and mechanics with routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs of plant, conveyor systems, and mixers.
Housekeeping:
Sweep, shovel, and clear debris to maintain plant safety standards and prevent dust or material buildup.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health, environmental, and safety protocols, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Assist with helping load trucks. Assist with railcar repairs and unloading. Assists with maintaining inventory levels. Works closely with the Team Manager in ensuring the coordination and work flow of all materials, drivers, and equipment. All other duties as assigned. Competencies or Experience Requirements Strong organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment Flexibility with fluctuating hours at concrete plant Previous experience a plus including basic heavy equipment skills
Physical Requirements Heavy Lifting:
Ability to frequently lift and maneuver heavy objects (frequently 50-100+ lbs).
Endurance:
Capable of performing physically demanding work for prolonged periods in extreme environmental conditions (dust, heat, cold, and loud noises).
Mobility:
Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and stand or walk for entire shifts. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required.
