• Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Ready-Mix Concrete Order Taker & Dispatcher for our operations serving the Mount Vernon, Ohio market.

This role is the critical nerve center of our daily production. You will be the direct line to our customers—translating their project needs into accurate order specifications, managing delivery logistics, and keeping our fleet running efficiently. Prior experience with concrete is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities Accurate Order Intake:

Take detailed incoming customer orders, verifying structural requirements, slump specifications, delivery volume (cubic yards), pour types (pumping, tailgating, flatwork), and exact job site directions.

Logistical Scheduling:

Coordinate truck tracking and delivery intervals to ensure consistent on-site delivery times while maximizing fleet utilization.

Technical Verification:

Identify and apply the correct mix designs and check for special additions (e.g., fiber, accelerators, retarders) based on weather and structural needs.

Customer & Driver Liaison:

Maintain constant communication with field supervisors, commercial accounts, homeowners, and CDL drivers to handle changing site conditions or delays smoothly.

Key Qualifications Industry Knowledge:

Prior experience in ready-mix concrete operations, aggregate supply, or construction dispatching is highly preferred .

Local Geography:

Strong familiarity with Knox and surrounding counties (Licking, Delaware) to quickly verify route logistics and site locations.

Tech Savvy:

Ability to learn and work quickly within industry-specific dispatching and ticketing software, mapping tools, and multi-line phone systems.

Thick Skin & Sharp Focus:

Ability to stay calm, clear-headed, and authoritative during peak morning rushes when multiple contractors are calling at once. Skills Knowledge of

GIS, GPS
