Paving | Portland, Oregon About This Role PMI Paving is looking for a skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team in Portland. This is hands-on work that directly impacts the quality of the infrastructure we build. You'll work on high-visibility projects throughout the metro area, finishing concrete surfaces to precise specifications, setting forms, operating equipment, and installing fixtures that last. If you take pride in your work and want to be part of a team that values craftsmanship, this is the job for you. Experience is a plus, but we offer excellent on-the-job training and will teach you everything you need to know to succeed in this trade. What You'll Do Finish and smooth concrete surfaces to specification using trowels, floats, and hand tools Set and maintain forms for concrete pours Operate power tools and specialized equipment safely and effectively Install curbs using extruding machines Grind concrete surfaces to remove hazards and meet quality standards Install signs, bollards, posts, and related fixtures Why PMI Paving We're a well-established, growing business in Portland. Work Location NE Portland, near public transportation Portland, OR 97220 Compensation & Benefits $27-$35 per hour based on experience Performance bonuses Paid Time Off (PTO) Flexible scheduling Health insurance Dental, vision, and prescription coverage Life insurance and short-term disability 401(k) profit-sharing plan On-the-job training and skill development Requirements Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurance requirements No more than 2 citations in the last 3 years Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly Comfortable with physical, outdoor work in varying weather Will pass pre-employment drug test and background check Technical Skills Proficiency with hand finishing tools (trowels, floats, brooms, edgers, squeegees) Experience with power trowels and mechanical finishing equipment Concrete grinding using handheld and walk-behind grinders for surface preparation and hazard removal Form setting, leveling, and alignment to precise specifications Understanding of concrete properties, slump, curing time, and weather effects on finishing Ability to read blueprints and understand grade, slope, and elevation requirements Operation of concrete extruding machines for curb installation Precision finishing to meet smoothness, flatness, and safety standards Safe equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Installation of bollards, posts, signage, and protective devices Who You Are Highly reliable - we depend on you to show up and do the work Strong work ethic and pride in your work Willing to learn and develop as a tradesperson Attention to detail and commitment to quality What We're Looking For We work with people who show up on time, do the job right, and take pride in what they build.
