Job Description
Operations Manager - Self Perform Concrete Construction (7+ yrs exp pref) Position Overview We are looking for a Director of Operations who knows concrete, knows people, and knows how to get work done. This is a senior leadership role with a direct impact on the growth and future of the company. The decisions made in this seat will shape our teams, our projects, and where we are headed next. This position requires extensive (7+ years) self-perform concrete construction experience, including vertical and elevated concrete scopes. This role reports to the Chief Operations Officer and leads the Project Management team while working side by side with field leadership. We are not a big box, cubicle driven, hierarchy heavy company. We value do-ers who take ownership, make decisions, and execute. The priority is leading the Project Management team, but this role must also step in as the senior project executive on major or high risk projects when needed. You will be responsible for building and leading the PM team from the ground up. That means hiring the right people, developing them, holding them accountable, and keeping strong talent in house. Key Responsibilities - Operations Manager (Self-Perform Concrete Construction) Lead and manage multiple Project Managers and multiple active self-perform concrete projects at the same time (mid rise, high rise, hotels, multifamily, commercial, etc. ground up construction) Hire, develop, grow, and retain high performing Project Managers Set clear expectations and hold the PM team accountable for results Oversee preconstruction planning and ensure clean handoffs from estimating to operations Work directly with superintendents, assistant superintendents, and foremen to align plans with field execution Drive and improve project management processes, systems, and standards Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control Take the senior project executive lead on major or high risk projects as needed Own project performance including safety, quality, schedule, and financial results Lead and reinforce safety standards in coordination with field leadership Track project and team performance and step in early when things go sideways Solve problems in the field and the office when projects get off track Maintain strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, and internal teams Maintain regular jobsite presence to support teams and drive accountability Build a culture of ownership, teamwork, and pride in the work Qualifications - Operations Manager (Self-Perform Concrete Construction) 7-10+ years of concrete construction experience required Vertical & elevated self-perform concrete construction experience required Proven experience leading people and managing multiple projects at once Track record of hiring strong talent and building teams that last Excellent computer skills Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control P&L ownership and financial responsibility experience Direct, confident leader who earns respect in the field and the office Strong communication skills at all levels Organized, accountable, and solution oriented Why Join Us as the Operations Manager (Self-Perform Concrete Construction) This role has real influence on how the company grows.
