Foreman or Superintendent Position Summary The Concrete Laborer assists in all phases of concrete construction, including site preparation, form setting, concrete placement, finishing support, and cleanup. This position requires physical labor, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced construction environment. The laborer works closely with foremen, finishers, equipment operators, and other crew members to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFormwork and Site Preparation Assist with measuring, laying out, and setting concrete forms. Install, brace, align, and remove wood, metal, or prefabricated forms. Prepare job sites by clearing debris, grading surfaces, and setting stakes. Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools. Concrete Placement and Finishing Support Assist with pouring, spreading, and leveling concrete. Operate hand and power tools used in concrete work. Support concrete finishers by raking, screeding, edging, and jointing concrete. Apply curing compounds and assist with concrete protection procedures. Help maintain proper concrete grades and elevations. Equipment and Tool Operation Operate small equipment such as power trowels, vibrators, saws, compactors, and other construction tools as trained. Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment. Safety and Compliance Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Participate in safety meetings and training programs. Identify and report unsafe conditions to supervisors. General Labor Duties Perform demolition and cleanup work as needed. Assist with reinforcing steel placement and installation. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications Previous concrete construction experience required. Knowledge of concrete placement, formwork, and finishing techniques is a plus. Ability to read measuring tapes and follow basic construction plans. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods. Work Environment Outdoor construction sites. Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and varying weather conditions. May require overtime, weekends, and travel to various job sites as needed. Preferred Certifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification. Valid Driver's License. Equipment operation certifications (preferred but not required).
