JOB DESCRIPTION

The construction finisher performs tasks involving physical labor at highway and heavy construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, set traffic control devices, shovel concrete, set forms, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials (Preferably a candidate that knows how to operate a walk-behind saw). The position may assist other craft workers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects; performs manual work in preparing surfaces for paving. Shovels concrete into construction areas. General knowledge of forming, pouring, and finishing concrete. Assists in patching.

Maintains a clean job site:

picks up all tools and equipment and secures the job site each day to eliminate potential hazards. Performs materials handling and storage. Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work. Preferred Education and Experience Preferred 2 years of experience in the same or similar field.
