We pay you per diem before you leave town (current project is $180/day), provide a company vehicle, you will work a minimum of 55 hours per week for 5 days of work. This is a high-visibility field role — you'll be the boots-on-the-ground quality authority on reinforced concrete placement, rebar, mix design compliance, and post-installed anchors. If you hold ICC Reinforced Concrete and want steady work on serious projects, we want to talk. Responsibilities Perform special inspections of reinforced concrete per IBC Chapter 17 and ACI 318 Verify rebar size, grade, placement, spacing, lap splices, and concrete coverage prior to pour Review and verify approved mix designs; inspect batch tickets during placement Monitor slump, temperature, air content, and cast concrete cylinders per
ASTM C31
Inspect post-installed anchor installations (epoxy and mechanical) per ICC and manufacturer requirements Verify formwork, shoring, and embedment conditions prior to concrete placement Prepare and submit detailed daily inspection reports via Procore, BlueBeam, or client platforms Coordinate with project engineers, EOR, and contractors on hold points and corrective actions Support TxDOT, USACE, DSA, and private sector QA/QC programs as required Required Qualifications Active ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector certification At least 2 years of field special inspection experience on commercial or industrial projects Working knowledge of
ACI 318, ASTM
C31, C39, C138, C143, C172, and IBC Chapter 17 Ability to read structural drawings, rebar plans, and specifications Valid driver's license Strong written reporting skills Preferred not Required Qualifications Additional ICC certifications (Structural Steel & Bolting, Structural Welding, Fireproofing) is nice but not required AWS CWI — multi-cert candidates heavily preferred and compensated accordingly ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I NDT certifications (UT, MT, PT) Experience on data center, power generation, LNG, or industrial/energy projects Familiarity with Procore, BlueBeam, or digital reporting platforms Benefits Competitive pay based on certs and experience Per diem and mileage for field assignments Certification reimbursement and continuing education support Career growth into senior inspector, project inspector, or QC management roles Work alongside a credentialed team on high-profile Texas construction projects
