Our commitment to innovation is driven by the collective expertise and passion of our team, making EKHO not just a workplace, but a community dedicated to shaping the future of construction Position Summary Based at the manufacturing plant, the Batcher Helper will report to the onsite QC Manager and provide hands-on support to batching operations. This role is responsible for assisting with daily batch plant functions, producing wood chips used in production, cleaning mixers and batching equipment, and supporting minor maintenance projects. The Batcher Helper plays an important role in keeping the Batch plant clean, organized, and operating efficiently to support production demands. Key Responsibilities Complies with and actively promotes all company Health & Safety rules. Immediately reports safety deficiencies, hazards, or unsafe conditions. Produces wood chips for production according to operational needs. Cleans mixers, hoppers, buckets, and related batch plant equipment. Assists with plant housekeeping and cleanup of batching areas, pits, conveyors, and surrounding workspaces. Supports minor maintenance projects such as changing mixer blades and replacing wear parts. Assists operators with material handling and daily batching support tasks. Learns and safely operates equipment such as loaders and skid steers after training. Follows all lockout/tagout procedures and participates in required safety training. Assists with end-of-shift cleanup and preparation for next-day production. Supports occasional evening cleanups and Saturday maintenance work as needed. Maintains tools and equipment in proper working conditions and returns tools to designated areas after use. Performs other duties as assigned by the QC Manager or site leadership. What You Bring High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing, laborer, construction, or industrial experience preferred. Mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with basic maintenance tasks. Ability to learn operation of loaders, skid steers, and related equipment. Ability to follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attendance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work later evenings and occasional Saturdays as business needs require. Strong communication skills and positive attitude. Working Environment This position operates within a manufacturing facility. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, with exposure to dust, heavy machinery, moving equipment, and varying noise levels (moderate to high). The role may require standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting materials or tools (up to 50 lbs.). Proper use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, steel-toed/metatarsal boots, and high-visibility clothing is required at all times.
