The Position:
Under the direction of the Foreman, we're looking for a Concrete Finisher responsible for safely assisting in the placement of concrete and final finishing of concrete surfaces, and perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or other management. Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level. Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots. Arrange the concrete forms and prepare surface. Level surfaces by using special blades, making sure all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over. Use wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold it until it is set. Smooth high spots and fill depressions. Make concrete beams, columns, and panels. Finish corners by hand. Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets. Knowledge of and ability to safely use crane hand signals. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Able to lift and carry up to 75lbs unassisted. Able to shoot grades.
Requirements :
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. A Class A CDL is strongly desired. High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Prior construction experience preferred. Must be punctual and dependable. Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed. Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments, and crawl in close quarters to strip concrete forms. Member of a local trade union, or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to hire.
