Strategic Industry is a licensed General Contractor with in-house Electrical & Low Voltage Divisions, serving commercial and government market sectors. We are seeking a high-quality Electrical Foreman to join a diverse, experienced team committed to excellence, safety, and accountability in every phase of our work. This position is project-based in Fairfield, CA. The Electrical Foreman will work primarily at the Fairfield, CA project site and report to field and leadership teams across the organization. For administrative purposes, the role may report to our Rohnert Park, CA office, as needed. We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package based on experience, including accrued vacation, sick time, employer-paid health insurance, paid holidays, 401(k), and additional voluntary benefits.
Compensation:
$44.00 to $55.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated leadership in the field. Compensation is based on assignment and may vary depending on project type. For state and federal prevailing wage projects, compensation will be paid in accordance with the applicable wage determinations, including required base and fringe components.
Position Summary :
The Electrical Foreman is a working foreman responsible for performing hands-on electrical work while supervising crew activities to ensure all installations meet company standards and project specifications. The Foreman collaborates with the general contractor and/or customer while managing onsite employees to maintain a positive and professional work environment. This role oversees productivity, safety, quality control, scheduling, procurement of materials, and other activities essential to running a successful project. The company operates in commercial, industrial, and government environments.
Essential Functions:
Implement the company safety plan and enforce policies to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with superintendents, customers, and internal staff to develop short- and long-term schedules as needed. Perform hands-on electrical work alongside crew members while assigning tasks and providing guidance. Assign tasks to team members and effectively track labor to stay on schedule and within budget. Develop goals to help the team achieve key project milestones. Manage material purchases, ensuring appropriate materials are onsite throughout each project phase. Review contractual documents—including customer contracts, subcontracts, quotes, change orders, project specifications, material submittals, and drawings—to ensure company compliance. Ensure adherence to NEC, federal, state, county, and local codes, and all contract documents. Accurately read and interpret schematic diagrams and blueprints. Maintain strong knowledge of trade-related tools, equipment, and test instruments required to perform the work. Forecast crew size based on upcoming tasks and budget coordination. Maintain complete and accurate as-built documentation for every project. Complete and submit daily reports timely and accurately. Ensure crew members start and finish work shifts on time and observe proper meal/break times per the Employee Handbook and applicable labor laws. Promote a healthy learning environment by engaging apprentices and ensuring active involvement under journeyman electricians. Ability and willingness to travel to various project locations as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Active California State Journeyman Electricians License (NO
EXCEPTIONS
) Electrical foreman with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on journeyman electrical work and proven success supervising and leading multi-size crews on small and large projects. Proven ability to perform electrical work alongside crew members while effectively managing productivity, quality, and safety. Federal and State contracting experience is a plus. Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety practices. Active OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification is preferred. Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and supervise apprentices and less experienced electricians to ensure skill development, safety compliance, and quality workmanship. Demonstrates initiative and consistently completes tasks in a timely manner. Ability to maintain a professional image and represent the company positively on job sites. Strong leadership skills and team management skills to motivate diverse crews and foster a collaborative and results-driven environment. Excellent communication skills to maintain strong relationships and build trust with clients, subcontractors, and team members, displaying professionalism, respect, and enthusiasm. Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and capable of passing federal background and security checks. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Environmental Conditions:
Work is primarily outdoors at active construction sites with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, heat, cold, and weather conditions (approximately 95% of the time). Work occasionally requires being in an office or trailer environment for documentation and meetings (approximately 5% of the time). Potential exposure to chemicals, dust, or airborne particulates, necessitating use of respiratory protection as required. Ability to work in confined spaces or elevated areas if project needs arise. Frequently operates in a fast-paced environment with unscheduled interruptions requiring adjustments to priorities and tasks. Occasional evenings or weekends work to meet deadlines and strategic objectives. Occasional travel and mobility between different work locations.
Physical Demands :
Consistent attendance and punctuality. Mobility within active construction sites, including walking on uneven, rocky, or muddy terrain. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and work at heights safely. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, for extended periods. Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely to travel between job sites. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in noisy environments.
