Lead Projects. Make an Impact. Project Support Services (PSS) is seeking an experienced Field Supervisor - Carpentry to support one of our premier public-sector clients in Los Angeles County. This is an exciting opportunity for a construction professional with strong field leadership experience and knowledge of public works construction to oversee carpentry operations on active projects that directly impact students, educators, and communities. As the Field Supervisor - Carpentry, you will oversee field operations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, ensure quality workmanship, maintain safety compliance, and serve as a key liaison between project stakeholders. Experience working on educational facilities, occupied campuses, and DSA-governed projects is highly desirable. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Supervise daily carpentry operations and field activities on active construction projects. Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and client requirements. Monitor project progress, schedule adherence, and quality control standards. Identify, document, and communicate field issues and assist in developing solutions. Perform field inspections and verify installation quality and workmanship. Maintain a safe work environment and enforce all safety policies and procedures. Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, inspectors, and client representatives. Review project documentation, reports, schedules, and field logs. Support project closeout activities and documentation requirements. Assist in resolving construction conflicts and field coordination challenges. Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to field personnel. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Minimum six (6) years of full-time paid construction experience in field supervision, construction management, or carpentry leadership roles. Candidates without a degree may substitute additional relevant experience. Strong knowledge of commercial, institutional, educational, or public works construction. Experience supervising crews, subcontractors, and multiple field activities simultaneously. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Proficiency with construction technology, tablets, smartphones, and digital reporting tools. Valid California Driver's License and ability to travel to project sites. Preferred Qualifications Experience on K-12, Community College, Higher Education, or public-sector construction projects. Familiarity with Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements and processes. Experience working in occupied school environments. OSHA 30 Certification. Experience with quality assurance, inspections, and project documentation. Why Join PSS?
