Full Job Description Foreman Position Overview:
Overview:
The Construction Foreman plays a vital role in managing on-site operations during construction projects. Responsible for supervising labor crews and subcontractors, the Foreman ensures that project activities are completed on time, adhere to safety regulations, and meet quality standards. This position requires strong leadership skills and effective communication to foster a productive work environment and achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision:
Oversee day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring tasks are completed safely and effectively. Coordination with
Superintendent:
Collaborate closely with the Construction Superintendent to align on project schedules and overall objectives.
Labor Management:
Direct and motivate CBA and subcontractor labor teams to achieve daily production goals, ensuring efficiency and productivity on site. Assist superintendent with timecard management including reviewing timecards and assigning labor codes.
Task Assignment:
Assign specific tasks to crew members based on skill levels and project requirements, and monitor progress throughout the day.
Safety Management:
Promote and enforce safety protocols among all workers to create a safe working environment, conducting regular safety checks.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that work complies with blueprints, specifications, and quality standards through regular inspections. Lead and or verify field layout from prints.
Communication:
Maintain open lines of communication with the Construction Superintendent, project managers, subcontractors, and crew members to address any issues that arise.
Documentation:
Keep detailed records of daily activities, including labor hours, materials used, and daily reports through ACC or other management software.
Toolbox Talks:
Conduct and document regular safety toolbox talks to enhance workforce awareness of safety practices and project requirements.
Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may impede progress, collaborating with the team to find effective solutions.
Material Management:
Oversee the inventory and usage of materials on site to minimize waste and ensure adequate supplies for ongoing tasks.
Inspections:
Assist in scheduling and preparing for inspections, ensuring that all necessary documentation is available for review.
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of construction processes and techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans. Ability to accurately layout from plans. Excellent leadership and team-building skills. Proficient in communication and interpersonal relations. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud software. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for scheduling and communication. Basic understanding of expense tracking and digital time card systems. Foreman at CBA act as a lead carpenter and supervisor. Personal hand tools are required daily as needed.
