Job Description

Swimming Pool Construction Foreman Distinctive Swimming Pools, In Position Summary Responsible for performing various construction and renovation jobs in addition to planning and setting construction goals, operating within budget, and keeping open communication with staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Maintain open communication with ownership regarding construction jobs and any issues encountered.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations
  • Performs excavation duties to include shoveling, pouring and laying concrete.
  • Performs demolition of concrete flatwork and various types of structures
  • Operates power tools and maintains property, tools, equipment and materials at all times
  • Lifts and carries tools to perform repairs
  • Follows daily work instruction in an efficient manner
  • Operates equipment and ensures all equipment is secured while on the job site
  • Wears appropriate clothing and safety equipment in accordance with approved procedures
  • Checks oil and fuel in equipment prior to the start of the day
  • Cleans operating machines in accordance with approved procedures between job sites and at the end of the day
  • Protects items in the work area such as cars, windows and people from damage due to flying debris from equipment
  • Removes removes debris and maintains a safe and clean construction site throughout and at the end of each day
  • Adheres to time clock procedures, safety rules and regulations, equipment operation, equipment maintenance, and proper procedures in accordance with company training protocol
  • Supervise every step of the project to ensure a particular outcome.
  • Trains all employees in work related responsibilities and safety.
  • Make timely decisions with the best interest of the project as their goal
  • Communicate with clients on additional work orders to ensure authorization from clients and ensure products are ordered and scheduled.
  • Manage and mitigate employee disputes.
  • Follow diagrams for construction sites.
  • Manages project time and costs and adhere to budget and maintain inventory control.
  • Hire new candidates that meet the criteria for construction department and terminate anyone who does meet the company's standard
  • Attends and participates in scheduled training sessions as required
  • Supervises and coordinates client projects upon request by ownership
  • Visit new/prospective client job sites with owner to assess work that needs to be completed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • 5+ years of related work experience preferred
  • CDL Class A Driver's License (Preferred)
  • Computer skills including the use of Internet Software and Contact Management Systems
  • Basic math skills with the ability to add, subtract, divide, operate with fractions/decimals, etc.
  • Possesses a high level of language skills to effectively communicate with staff, collaborate with other management groups, and to delegate tasks effectively.
  • Strong ability to operate independently and make decisions in the moment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This position requires the operation of a forklift, excavator, skid-steer, dump truck, trailers, and construction power tools. This position regularly must stand, walk, use hands/arms, reach, talk/hear, stoop/kneel, and crouch. This position occasionally requires the ability to sit. The position must regularly be able to move up to 100 pounds. While operating in this position the employee is regularly around moving/mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions, wet/humid conditions, extreme heat/cold, vibration, and operating in high places. This position may occasionally be exposed to toxic chemicals, fumes/airborne particles, and a risk of electrical shock with the possibility of receiving sunburns or rashes. The noise level in this environment is usually very loud.
