Job Description

A Pipe Foreman is a skilled leadership role responsible for supervising crews (typically 2 to 15 people ) in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drains. This is a "working foreman" position, meaning you are expected to perform physical labor alongside your team while managing project logistics and safety
Core Responsibilities Crew Management :
Schedule, coordinate, and supervise daily activities of pipe layers, laborers, and equipment operators.
Technical Installation :
Lay, join, and align pipe sections for storm sewers, sanitation lines, and water mains.
Plan Interpretation :
Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications to configure accurate pipe routes.
Precision Alignment :
Use pipe lasers , transit levels, and grade rods to ensure proper elevation and slope.
Site Safety :
Conduct daily safety meetings, identify potential hazards, and ensure full compliance with OSHA standards and company safety protocols.
Equipment Operation :
Operate heavy machinery like excavators, backhoes, and front-end loaders to dig and backfill trenches.
Reporting :
Maintain accurate daily logs, process employee timesheets, and track material usage and production costs
Key Requirements Experience :
Typically requires 3 to 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Physical Stamina :
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials, often up to 75-100 lbs .
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in welding, sealing joints, and knowledge of various pipe materials (PVC, ductile iron, concrete).
Environment :
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and within confined spaces like deep excavations.
Licensing :
