Position Summary We are seeking a Field Foreman - Heavy Civil to lead daily field operations on earthwork and underground utility projects. This is a working foreman role , ideal for someone who can lead a crew while actively operating equipment and driving production. The right candidate is hands-on, highly organized, and experienced in managing small crews, equipment, and jobsite coordination. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead field crews on sitework, grading, and utility installation projects Coordinate daily activities, manpower, and equipment to meet production goals Operate heavy equipment as needed (excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.) Read and interpret plans, grades, and specifications Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards Communicate with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors Track daily quantities, production, and job progress Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient jobsite Identify and solve field issues proactively Qualifications 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork and/or utilities) Proven experience as a foreman or crew leader Strong equipment operating skills (excavator, dozer, GPS equipment preferred) Ability to read plans and understand grades and elevations Strong leadership and communication skills Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus) GPS machine control experience is a plus What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunity for growth with a rapidly expanding company Steady pipeline of local work (home most nights) Modern equipment and technology (GPS-enabled machines) Team-oriented work environment Why Join D2 Contracting?
