Position Summary:
The Integrated Communications Foreman II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and supervision of a wide range of low-voltage communication systems, including intercoms, security, fire alarm, and access control systems. This position ensures projects are completed on time and in compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county staff, contractors, and vendors.Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, test, and maintain: Intercom and paging systems/troubleshoot as needed General maintenance on Fire Alarms VoIP and traditional telephone systems Intrusion detection and access control systems Sound system installation and maintenance Portable sound administration as needed IP-based and analog CCTV systems Troubleshoot and repair faults in communication and security systems (add and remove codes as needed, etc) Ensure compliance with applicable codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, ADA) and safety regulations Supervise and coordinate work with technicians, contractors, and third-party vendors Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance logs, and inventory Prepare project documentation and assist in developing project scopes and cost estimates Interface with internal departments and external partners with professionalism and technical clarity Operate diagnostic and testing equipment, hand tools, and software-based management systems Use personal computers and modern software applications for system programming, documentation, and communicationQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in low-voltage system installation and maintenance Working knowledge of current technologies, including IP networking, PoE systems, and structured cabling Experience with fire alarm systems (e.g., Notifier, Simplex) and compliance with NFPA 72 Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Strong communication skills with the ability to establish immediate rapport with county employees, contractors, and vendors Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently Valid driver's license; ability to travel to worksites as requiredDesirable Skills:
NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Visio, and building automation interfacesOSHA 10/30
