In this pivotal role, you will coordinate daily activities, supervise crews, ensure safety compliance, and maintain high standards of quality throughout the project lifecycle. Your leadership will drive project efficiency, adherence to schedules, and the successful execution of excavation and grading tasks, contributing to the overall success of our construction projects. Duties Lead and supervise excavation and grading crews, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop daily work plans aligned with project schedules. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to guide site activities accurately. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets industry standards and client expectations. Enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA regulations; conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections. Manage on-site documentation including daily reports, incident reports, and equipment logs; oversee budget adherence and resource allocation. Supervise the use of tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary; ensure all team members operate equipment safely. Oversee subcontractor activities related to pipeline installation or other specialized excavation tasks. Ensure proper use of construction site management tools like Bluebeam for document review and communication. Requirements Proven experience in construction management with a focus on excavation and grading projects; supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating techniques. Solid understanding of OSHA safety standards and regulations; ability to enforce safety policies effectively on-site. Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise diverse teams and coordinate subcontractors efficiently. Ability to operate or oversee the use of heavy machinery such as excavators or graders; familiarity with tools like ohmmeters is a plus. Strong communication skills for clear coordination among team members, clients, and stakeholders. Valid certifications in construction safety (OSHA 10/30-hour training) are required; additional certifications in heavy equipment operation or pipeline work are advantageous.
