Job Description

Job Summary The Working Foreman - Facilities preplans and executes maintenance and construction tasks on equipment and physical plant associated to maintaining the facilities within MVHS. Acts as a working facilities team member who also leads the work of a group of mechanics and craftsmen performing tasks at the journeyman level and below. Core Job Responsibilities Works as a facilities team member who also oversees the daily work of mechanics and tradesmen in an effort to complete projects in an orderly and timely fashion. Prioritizes and schedules assignments. Uses the work order system. Performs, schedules and assists with repair, construction and preventative maintenance (PM) duties for equipment and systems within the facility. Ensures PMs are completed per manufacturer instructions or facility standards. Responsible for compliance with regulatory agency standards for a variety of facilities equipment or systems (including Legionella sampling, fire doors and barriers, HVAC filtering). Maintains complete documentation for service or inspection activities as required. Actively participates in Quality Improvement activities, looks for ways to improve the patient and visitor experience and make sure that the facility and ground are at their best. Keeps Director and facilities leadership update on progress towards project completion as well as issues, problems or concerns. Maintains a safe work environment at all times. Performs related duties as required. Education/Experience Requirements
REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years of experience in one or more trades. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with MS Office, email and work order systems.
PREFERRED
Journeyman trades experience. Associates degree or higher. 3-5 years working in a facilities, trades or construction role in healthcare facility.
