This is a project-based, FIFO role that will see you leading a crew in one of North America's most unique and remote industrial environments. The Construction Foreman will work as a senior member of the project team. This role oversees civil contractors who are performing site prep, earthworks and foundation installation, while managing internal installation crews and working closely with the site operator to ensure seamless, collaborative and safe operations across all parties. The Foreman will support Solar Technicians and other internal crew members to ensure racking systems are installed to spec efficiently, meeting company and industry standards while delivering results that exceed client expectations. The typical schedule includes shift work with rotations of 2-3 weeks, working 12 hours per day, with paid travel days. The role requires the ability to perform in variable arctic conditions with a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times. Start date is required within 4 weeks of offer acceptance. Job Description The chosen candidate will be trained and expected to perform the following tasks: Oversee all works including civil construction subcontractors for access road and foundation construction Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel Delegate individual responsibilities and tasks to crew members Coordinate with contractors working on site Work in overseeing project safety program within a mine environment ensuring all workers, representatives and subcontractors under our scope meet or exceed expectations set out by the mine Document daily and weekly safety processes with crews, manage potential incidents, and diligently report near-misses Maintain accountability for time management across the crew to ensure schedules are met and progress is reported accurately Apply a strong eye for quality, identify and call out errors early to maintain a structurally sound, high-quality installation Plan daily work schedules and provide regular status reporting to the Project Manager, and fill in detailed daily field reports; maintain meticulous daily logs, tracking production rates against the project schedule to ensure delivery within the short building season. Manage on-site inventory and coordinate the procurement of supplies and materials as needed Be able to pivot work plans to keep project on schedule Conduct Employee Development Meetings (EDMs) with crew members to discuss goals, performance, and any issues they are experiencing Identify potential improvements to installation processes and discuss them with the Project Manager or other relevant managers Work with the site electrician and assist with electrical scope work as required Utilize spreadsheets, email, and remote working tools to track and communicate project progress Other tasks assigned as part of the Construction Foreman position agreement Required Skills & Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience managing or supervising construction crews Strong safety compliance mindset with demonstrated ability to enforce safe work practices on site Accountable time management with the ability to plan daily work schedules and report on progress Eye for quality and the confidence to identify and call out errors constructively Familiarity with drilling and construction surveying Experience with equipment operation (ticketed operation is an asset but not required) Comfortable with spreadsheets, email, and remote working tools Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal Strong practical problem-solving skills in dynamic field conditions Respectful team player who leads with professionalism and integrity Ability to manage on-site inventory and arrange procurement of supplies Physically and mentally capable of working 12-hour days for 2-3 week rotations in variable arctic conditions Excellent people skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and adapt in a remote project environment Previous solar or electrical experience would be considered an asset Additional Requirements Must be available to begin work within 4 weeks of offer acceptance Must be willing to travel to and work at a remote site in Alaska for the duration of project rotations Must be willing to wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed boots, gloves, and Hi-Vis vest Must be able to provide own basic hand and power tools and appropriate arctic winter workwear (tool list to be provided) Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of driving experience Able to provide a clean background check and driver's abstract upon request Must be legally authorized to work in the United States or hold the appropriate work authorization for Alaska-based project work How to Apply We wish to express our appreciation to all applicants for their interest in this position.
