High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Chaparral is seeking an experienced Firestop Foreman to lead crews in the installation of firestopping systems. This role is responsible for ensuring proper installation of firestop materials at penetrations and joints in a variety of construction settings. The position will be based onsite in Austin, TX and Taylor, TX . Responsibilities Lead and supervise crews installing firestop material at through and membrane firestop penetrations. Oversee installation of firestop systems at drywall, masonry, and curtain wall joint applications. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with approved design documents and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints, life safety drawings, and specifications. Operate and ensure safe use of boom lifts, scissor lifts, swing stages, scaffolds, and ladders. Perform physical duties including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting as needed to complete installations. Experience High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous firestop experience strongly preferred. Proven leadership and supervisory skills on construction projects. Dependable transportation with ability to travel for day and overnight trips as needed. OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. Fall Protection, Forklift, Boom Lift, and Scissor Lift certifications preferred. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally more as required.
