Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Pipe Foreman to lead our field crews on underground utility and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising pipe-laying crew, coordinating daily site activities, and ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and to specification. Key Responsibilities Operate track hoe to dig trench, prep holes, set pipe, and backfill Direct daily activities of pipe-laying and underground utility crew Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, grade sheets, and site plans Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors Ensure all work meets applicable codes, safety standards, and quality requirements Manage material deliveries, equipment staging, and crew scheduling Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce OSHA trenching and excavation regulations Track production quantities and submit accurate field reports Troubleshoot field conditions and resolve issues proactively to keep projects on schedule Mentor journeymen and apprentice-level crew members to develop team capability Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on all job sites Required Certifications & Qualifications OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification required (OSHA 10 minimum accepted with commitment to complete 30-hour) Valid driver's license required Minimum 10 years of pipe-laying or underground utilities experience, with at least 2 years in a foreman or crew lead role Proficiency with PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, concrete and other piping systems Demonstrated ability to read and work from blueprints, drawings, and grade sheets Proven leadership skills: ability to manage diverse crews and maintain productivity under pressure Comfortable with daily reporting, quantity tracking, and basic field scheduling Knowledge of local codes and municipal utility standards is an asset Must be able to show proof of age over 18, identity, and right to work in the United States Must be able to pass a drug screen Working Conditions This is a physically demanding, outdoor leadership role. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and near heavy equipment. Must be able to lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly. Overtime may be required based on project schedules.
