Welder/Pipefitter Foreman - Special Projects
Newport News, VA 23606
Our projects team is looking for a Foreman level Welder and Pipefitter to join our group! You will work closely with the Assistant Superintendent and Lead Superintendent to ensure delivery of successful projects to owners, in the safest manner possible, on time and on budget with the desired level of quality.

A day in the life:
Monitor and control manpower and tools to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
Direct installation of equipment and piping made of various materials (i.e., iron, steel, brass, and copper, and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic) by means of welded, grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
Determine required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
Weld pipes/metals with various techniques including electric, gas, arc(SMAW), MIG, TIG, STICK or other equipment
Develop plans and steps to correct customer issues and ensure future success with customers
You should have:
Excellent mechanical, administrative and analytical skills
OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of BOCA and OSHA safety regulations
Experience with pipe welding on HVAC boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and more
Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
Ability to work from drawings, submittals and specifications
