Job Description

Job Summary The Foreman is a hands-on field leader responsible for executing daily construction activities and guiding carpentry crews to deliver a high-quality building project. The foreman coordinates crew activities, interprets construction documents, and ensures work is completed in accordance with project plans, building codes, and high-performance building standards. This role combines skilled carpentry with team leadership, job safety, and mentorship to maintain production goals, quality expectations, and J.D. Eicher's commitment to client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise carpentry crews on job sites
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Perform framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, trim, and other carpentry tasks
  • Coordinate daily work schedules and assign tasks to team members
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Communicate with project manager, subcontractor, and clients
  • Inspect work for quality and accuracy
  • Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment
  • Train and mentor junior carpenters
  • Troubleshoot construction issues and recommend solutions
  • Track project progress and report update to management Skills

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of residential construction experience, including experience leading field crews.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting full construction plan sets, both architectural and structural.
  • Strong understanding of multiple construction disciplines including excavation, concrete work, framing, weather resistive barriers, windows and doors, siding, and finish carpentry.
  • Ability to lead a crew while also performing hands-on carpentry work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in field conditions.
  • Able to lift 70 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding work.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
