Job Description

Job Summary Janicki General Contracting is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Foreman to lead field operations on complex civil projects. This is a working leadership role requiring strong expertise in earthwork, underground utilities, and site development. The ideal candidate is a proven crew leader who can read plans, set grade, operate equipment, and drive production while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead, direct, and work alongside crews in excavation, grading, and underground utility installation Interpret plans, specs, and grade information to accurately execute work in the field Set and verify grades, elevations, and slopes for pipe and site work Operate heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, graders) at a high level of proficiency Plan daily work, sequence tasks, and maintain production goals Coordinate closely with superintendents to stay aligned with schedule and scope Enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized jobsite Train and mentor crew members; hold team accountable for performance and quality Troubleshoot field issues and adjust plans to keep work moving efficiently Maintain accurate daily reports, timecards, and job documentation Minimum Requirements (Must Have) 5+ years of hands-on civil construction experience (earthwork, utilities, site development) 2+ years of foreman or lead crew supervision experience Strong ability to read plans, set grade, and perform layout independently Proven experience in underground utility installation (pipe, storm, sewer, water) High-level proficiency operating heavy equipment Demonstrated ability to drive production and manage crew performance Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and field safety practices Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding work Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications CDL Experience with pipe lasers, GPS, or grade control systems Experience leading crews on multi-phase or large-scale civil projects Why Join JGC? Pay:
$38.00 - $67.60 per hour
