Owner/Construction Manager Job Summary:
The Telecom Aerial Foreman is responsible for supervising and leading a crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecommunications infrastructure. This role ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, customer expectations, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a crew in the installation of aerial fiber and coaxial cable. Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings. Operate and ensure safe use of bucket trucks, ladders, winches, and other aerial equipment. Perform aerial construction tasks including strand placement, lashing, pole transfers, and make-ready work. Ensure job sites are safe and compliant with OSHA and company safety standards. Communicate with project managers, inspectors, utility companies, and customers to ensure job accuracy and timeliness. Complete and submit daily production reports, timesheets, and safety checklists. Train and mentor crew members to improve technical and safety skills. Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets specifications. Troubleshoot issues and resolve conflicts that arise in the field.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training a plus. Minimum 3-5 years of aerial telecommunications construction experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of aerial construction techniques and safety procedures. Proficient in use of aerial equipment including bucket trucks, climbing gear, and lashers. Ability to read and understand construction prints and work orders. Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred or ability to obtain. Climbing certification and pole-top rescue training a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and at heights.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Comfortable working at heights (up to 50 feet). Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Outdoor fieldwork in various weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required based on project needs.
