Job Description

Pacific Tech Communications Inc. (PTC) is a full-service telecommunications infrastructure contractor specializing in Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) construction, fiber optic installation, and network deployment. Our experienced team supports major telecom providers through high-quality construction, engineering, and maintenance services. Position Overview The HDD Laborer / Bore Crew Member supports Horizontal Directional Drilling operations by assisting the drill operator and locator with jobsite setup, tooling, materials handling, and general construction tasks. This role is critical to maintaining efficient drilling operations and ensuring safety and quality standards are met on every project. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to build a career in underground telecommunications construction and directional drilling operations. Key Responsibilities Assist the Directional Drill Operator and Locator with daily HDD operations Set up and break down drilling equipment, tooling, and jobsite materials Handle drill rods, tooling, and materials during bore operations Support potholing, conduit installation, and product pullback operations Assist with trenching, hand digging, and restoration tasks as needed Maintain clean and organized job sites Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors Help maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles Perform other construction duties as assigned Required Qualifications Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments Willingness to travel for project assignments as needed Ability to work in varying weather conditions Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures Basic construction or underground utility experience preferred Preferred Qualifications Previous Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) or underground utility experience Experience working in telecommunications or fiber construction environments Experience with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions Why Join PTC Opportunity to grow within the telecommunications construction industry Work with experienced drilling and construction teams Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunities for advancement into Locator, Operator, or Crew Lead roles Equal Opportunity Employer Pacific Tech Communications Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
