Full-Time Company:
CK Excavating & Demolition (Directional Boring Division) CK Excavating & Demolition is hiring an HDD Locator to support underground utility installation and directional boring projects. You'll use locating equipment to track the drill head, provide real-time guidance to the Drill Operator, and help the crew maintain safe, accurate bores. What You'll Do
  • Operate locating equipment to track and guide the drill head during HDD operations
  • Provide continuous, clear communication to the Drill Operator and crew (depth, pitch, direction)
  • Read and interpret construction plans, bore profiles, and utility markings
  • Identify, verify, and avoid existing underground utilities; support potholing/verification as needed
  • Maintain accurate bore logs, depth readings, and as-built information per project requirements
  • Work safely and efficiently, following company policies and job-site safety requirements What We're Looking For
  • HDD locating experience required
  • Familiarity with HDD locating systems and field technology
  • Ability to read plans and accurately interpret utility markings (811 awareness)
  • Strong safety mindset; able to identify hazards and follow job-site safety requirements
  • 2-4+ years in directional boring, construction, or underground utility installation preferred
  • Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus)
