Job Description
Steel Fabrication - Shop Laborer A growing fabrication/job shop is seeking Shop Laborer candidates for our facility. We are looking for ambitious individuals that are interested in working at facility to learn a lucrative career in the steel fabrication industry. The candidate must be willing to work a variety of positions, sometimes cold and dirty environments. Candidate will learn from a variety of professionals that have extensive experience in fabricating and construction. Must be willing to work as a team member and be good at receiving instruction from others. Possible career avenues are but not limited to Painting, Material Handling, Material Transportation, CNC and Manual Machine Operator, Welding and Fitting. The qualified candidates will be doing the following:
- Material handling
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Grinding steel/handrails
- Material preparation for coatings
- Parts preparation
- Running saw, ironworker, plasma table, etc.
Candidates must posses the following:
- Ability to read a tape measure fluently
- Forklift experience
- Accurate paperwork completion, & other duties as assigned;
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Reliability in reporting to work; willingness to work overtime as required, including Saturdays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights and work in extreme temperature conditions.
- Blueprint reading, painting, CDL "A" driver experience is a plus.
