Construction Laborer

Job Summary The Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting site construction operations through physical labor, material handling, site preparation, and assistance to equipment operators and skilled trades personnel. This position plays an essential role in maintaining safe, organized, and productive construction sites. Key Responsibilities Perform general labor duties including digging, shoveling, raking, grading, and cleanup. Assist with site preparation, excavation, utility installation, and backfilling activities. Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment. Assist heavy equipment operators, truck drivers, and construction crews as needed. Install and maintain erosion control, traffic control devices, and temporary site protection measures. Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely and effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Follow company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety procedures. Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or job site hazards. Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion. Qualifications Previous construction or labor experience preferred but not required. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of basic construction tools and job site safety practices preferred. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Valid driver's license preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday. Work Environment Outdoor construction sites with exposure to dust, mud, noise, vibration, and heavy equipment traffic. Work may involve trenches, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and changing weather conditions. Fast-paced environment requiring attention to safety and teamwork. Preferred Skills OSHA 10 certification or other safety training.
