Great opportunity to join the Bayside Dredging team to perform specialized work. Crew members have the ability after sufficient training and experience to move up to foreman. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools. Reviewing documents and plans Being comfortable in the water for job setup and hand dredging work. Assisting and coordinating with Heavy Equipment Operators with transport, movement and rigging of equipment on-site. Work with surveyor layouts and cutsheets to determine line and grades as necessary. Performing the work as shown on the contract drawings. Plan ahead to make sure appropriate materials are onsite when needed. Communicating with site Foreman, PM, or Superintendent Plan sequence of activities in and out of the water Removing debris and maintaining a clean and safe work site. Assembling and breaking down hoses, barricades, temporary structures, and pumps. Complying with all safety rules, regulations, and permit conditions. Assist in Mobilizations/Demobilizations as needed. Must be motivated and able to work independently and as a team. Evaluate on going safety issues on job and make changes when necessary. Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Analyze and resolve any work problems. Maintain time and production records, detailed and accurate timesheets with verified quantities including detailed locations of work performed. Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required. •Note• Wetsuits are provided for warmth and protection. Water booties / shoes will need to be purchased. Must regularly work or walk on uneven ground or onboard floating equipment. Qualifications /
Requirements:
Must be motivated and able to work independently and with others Must show up on time The current position consists of working forty (40 hours a week with the potential for overtime as necessary) Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Highschool diploma or GED. Working knowledge of construction site safety and road safety regulations. Able to operate heavy equipment a plus but not required. Able to trouble shoot problems, hose clogs, hydraulic issues, and read tide gauge. •Note• It may take a couple weeks to learn these trouble shooting procedures. Must be able to travel. Marine Construction experience a plus. OSHA Certifications a plus. Comfortable being/ working in the water. Usually, 6ft of depth or less.
