Construction Worker

We are looking for a competent Construction Worker to work on parking lots, roads and other construction projects. Asphalt experience is a must. You must have physical strength, endurance and work well with your hands. Employees will meet at our shop and drive in a company truck to job sites. Asphalt Paving Duties & ResponsibilitiesSite Preparation Prepare and grade surfaces to proper elevation and slope Remove debris, vegetation, and existing pavement as required Install and compact sub-base and base materials Set string lines, forms, and grade stakes for accurate alignment Equipment Operation Operate paving equipment such as asphalt pavers, rollers, skid loaders, and dump trucks Control material flow from trucks to paver Adjust screed settings to maintain proper thickness and grade Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Asphalt Placement Lay hot mix asphalt using paving machines or by hand in tight or detailed areas Rake and shovel asphalt to ensure proper distribution and coverage Match joints and seams to existing pavement or adjacent passes Maintain consistent paving speed and material temperature Compaction & Finishing Compact asphalt using rollers to meet density specifications Monitor surface smoothness and correct imperfections Finish edges, transitions, and tie-ins for a clean, uniform appearance Ensure proper drainage and slope throughout paved surface Traffic Control & Safety Set up and maintain traffic control devices (cones, signs, barricades) Follow all OSHA and job site safety regulations Wear required PPE (hard hats, vests, gloves, etc.) Communicate effectively with crew members and equipment operators
