Job Description
Nichols Equipment is seeking a motivated, dependable Yard Laborer who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a safe, organized, and professional environment. This role is critical to keeping our yard, equipment, and property operating at a high standard every day. If you're a hard worker who enjoys staying busy, working outdoors, and taking ownership of your responsibilities, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized, and professional equipment yard. Move, stage, and organize equipment and attachments. Assist with loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns. Keep the property, buildings, and work areas maintained to high standards. Support daily operations to ensure equipment is ready for rental customers. Follow all company safety procedures and promote a safety-first culture. Communicate clearly and provide direct instructions when coordinating yard duties. Perform general yard maintenance and housekeeping tasks as needed. Communicate and build repour with Nichols Equipment customers Qualifications Strong work ethic and willingness to stay productive throughout the day. Critical thinker who can identify problems and find practical solutions. Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Comfortable working at a fast pace while maintaining quality standards. Able to work outdoors year-round in all conditions Iowa summers and winters bring. Basic knowledge of construction, agricultural, or heavy equipment. Takes pride in maintaining a clean workspace and professional appearance. Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently. Ability to safely lift, move, and work around heavy equipment. Preferred Experience Previous experience in a yard, construction, agricultural, trucking, or equipment dealership environment. Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
