Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking an honest, hardworking individual to join our team! You will be responsible for various tasks in a marina setting that requires the ability to work with hand tools, operate some machinery, and perform manual labor. Typical tasks include replacing broken dock boards, fixing locks, adjusting dock floatation, landscaping, simple carpentry and snow shoveling in the winter. Mechanical, technical, plumbing or electrical experience will be required for consideration for top of salary range. Applicant must have their own basic tools, supplementary tools are provided. Applicant must be able to analyze problems and come up with solutions on their own!
Example:
A door lock is not working.
Good response:
Oil lock, check if building has shifted, adjust strike plate, retrieve replacement parts from the shop if needed Bad response: "I walked by and tried to turn it and it doesn't work so we need to buy a new one"
Responsibilities:
Assist with assembly and repair of docks, slips and buildings throughout the marina Operate hand tools and power tools to complete tasks; work in construction setting Load and unload materials from trailers Fix customer issues with rental units or RV spots Yard work and landscaping Perform general maintenance and assemble & fabricate products Follow safety protocols and guidelines Maintain a clean and organized work area Other miscellaneous tasks as needed
Desired Skills:
Framing/woodworking Electrical Plumbing Concrete Work Common Sense Problem Solving •note it is not required to be proficient all areas, but some experience is necessary•
Requirements:
Have basic tools
MUST HAVE
reliable personal vehicle for transport between work sites (typically less than 2 minute drive between; golf carts provided during summer) Ability to analyze problems and request help when you don't know something Willingness to learn Willing and able to send pictures of work completed and write short (1 paragraph or less) reports on work completed at end of day Recommended tools to bring: hammer cordless drill skill saw (cordless is even better) grinder (cordless is even better) pliers adjustable wrench or socket set If you enjoy working with your hands, apply now!
