General Laborer Sewers

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate various types of tools & equipment including but not limited to: two-way radios, compressor with air hammer, push lawn mowers, lawn tractors, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, shovels, rakes, brooms, mops, vacuums, etc. Aid and assist other maintenance and operations personnel Perform minor building/system repairs Maintain accurate written records. Maintain clean and safe work areas, tools and equipment Interact with co-workers and the public with tact and diplomacy Manage time, make sound decisions and work independently Maintain a positive attitude and consistent performance Follow directions and relay work progress in an effective manner Follow safety procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining a safe work environment. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as assignedKNOWLEDGE/ABILITY
Ability to communicate with the public with a focus on positive customer service Ability to establish effective working relationships with others Ability to maintain best practices and learn new maintenance procedures Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos Ability to communicate orally and in writing Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to perform physical labor under adverse field conditions for extended periodsEDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 18 years of age or older No prior experience or training necessaryCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Specific vision abilities required in this job include close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment will include both working inside and working outside in various weather conditions (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, etc.). The employee may work near moving mechanical parts, around fumes or airborne particles, and be exposed to oils, greases, solvents, and other chemicals that may be hazardous. Noise conditions can vary from quiet to very loud.SCHEDULE
