Job Description

Join our team as a Seasonal Parks Laborer and play a vital role in maintaining the beauty, safety, and functionality of our public parks and outdoor spaces. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work outdoors across various environments, performing essential landscaping, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks. As a key team member, you will help ensure visitors enjoy clean, well-kept parks while gaining valuable experience in horticulture, landscape maintenance, and equipment operation. This paid seasonal role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about outdoor work and eager to contribute to community recreation areas. Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, trimming, and fertilizing to keep park grounds vibrant and inviting Maintain landscape features such as flower beds, shrubs, trees, and hardscape elements like pathways and benches Operate hand tools and power equipment including trimmers, blowers, lawnmowers, and small excavators to complete maintenance tasks efficiently Conduct tree care activities such as pruning, trimming, and hazard assessments to promote healthy growth and safety Assist with irrigation system installation, inspection, and repair to ensure proper watering of park landscapes Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways safe for visitors Perform general maintenance tasks including cleaning park facilities, repairing fencing or signage, and supporting construction or renovation projects Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools and power tools Basic understanding of lawn care practices, landscape maintenance, and gardening principles Familiarity with landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and excavators Knowledge of tree care techniques including trimming and pruning Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions Strong attention to safety procedures when operating machinery or handling tools Prior experience in construction or hardscape projects is a plus Valid driver's license preferred; ability to operate small equipment safely is essential This position offers an exciting chance to develop your skills in horticulture, landscape maintenance, and outdoor equipment operation while contributing positively to community spaces.
